The announcement and application for the ‘2022 Great Taekwondo Master Designation’, which is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Taekwondowon is in charge of the project, is in progress.
‘Designation of Great Taekwondo Master in 2022’ is a project promoted to raise the status of Taekwondo by designating those with high morals and skills among those who have contributed greatly to the spread of Taekwondo at home and abroad.

2019 태권도의 날 기념식Great Taekwondo Master is a person with a 9th Dan certificate of Taekwondo from Kukkiwon who has contributed to the spread of Taekwondo, a person who is engaged in the field of Taekwondo and has professional ethics such as not committing sports corruption pursuant to Article 2 of the National Sports Promotion Act.
Great Taekwondo Master will be based on an even-numbered year, and no more than two people will be selected every other year. However, if there is no person who meets the criteria for designation, the designation may not be made.
The deadline for institutional nominations and individual applications for the ‘2022 Great Taekwondo Masters’ is April 8.
