What is the square pad training?

The square pad is a square-shaped tool used to practice the breaking of taekwondo.  I use it comprehensively in taekwondo training. The national flag of Korea has taichi and trigram, the traditional symbols of the East Asia. trigram means the direction and changes

square pad training seems to be similar to the ‘Pump It Up’ games that were popular in the past, and it seems to be similar to the oriental magic square. Was there anything affected?

I don’t know about oriental magic square. I’ll find it later. I used to work as a part-time instructor for taekwondo gymnastics at a taekwondo Gym. In order to guide the children and explain the direction of movement easily, I used Korean flag. The Korean flag is always on the front in Taekwondo gym. I assigned a number to four trigram, an element of the Korean flag. I asked the children to move their feet along the numbers so they were very happy and easy to follow. I came across this teaching method by accidently. It’s similar to the pump game that I had a lot of fun before, so I made various steps referring to the pump game. When I participated in the 2012 KTA Gym contest for Taekwondo teaching method, I thought about how I could use square pad to teach Taekwondo.
