After a year of substantial development, Australian Taekwondo will showcase its new brand identity at the Australian Taekwondo National Championships, which will be hosted at Nissan Arena in Brisbane from April 1st to 2nd, 2022.
The event is projected to attract over 800 competitors, with Australian Taekwondo Chief Executive Heather Garriock exclaiming, “We’re excited to reveal a new identity for our national event.” Over the last year, Australian Taekwondo has experienced substantial transformations, with an emphasis on modernizing and professionalizing the sport in order to promote it as a sport and martial art that anybody can enjoy. This plan necessitates a strong identity for our headline event, which is a follow-up to our rebrand six months ago.”
The Taekwondo National Championships are a major combat sports event in Australia, and it will be the first major Taekwondo tournament since the COVID-19 outbreak.
The event’s highly anticipated ‘Friday Fight Night’ will feature Australia’s best 16 Black Belts, eight women and eight men, sparring for two hours with four matches per hour.
In the master’s categories, athletes ranging in age from eight to sixty years old will compete, with grades ranging from emerging color belt grades to elite black belts.

Brisbane City Council, through the Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA), New Balance, ProYou Business Advisory, Shogun Martial Arts, and the Australian College of Physical Education, is supporting the Australian Taekwondo Championships.
